1b / 3a / 3b: Combined Course - E-learning

Online theory (4 hour course) and practical at our depot for 1b, 3a & 3b categories.

Designed to instruct the delegate in the safe operation MEWPs in the following categories;  

• Static Boom (1b): Self-propelled booms (outriggers), trailers/push-arounds, vehicle-mounted platforms
• Mobile Vertical (3a): Scissor lifts, vertical personnel platforms (mobile)
• Mobile Boom (3b): Self-propelled booms (cherry pickers)

• 4 hours self-paced online learning
• Half day at a Horizon Training Centre
• Introduction to IPAF and MEWPs
• Legislations, Regulations, Standards and Best Practice
• MEWP categories explained
• Structural parts identified
• Pre-use inspection/handover requirements
• Safe operating methods and hazards to be observed
• Practical training on selected categories
• Practical assessment on selected categories
• Issuing of IPAF Operator's Log book

16+ Years of age.

Upon completion candidate to be able to safely operate MEWPs in the 1b, 3a and 3b categories including performing pre-use checks. 

• 4 hour online training (link provided upon registration)
• Practical Exam is in-person
