PAL + is an optional, additional one day of category-specific training course aimed at operators working in higher risk or challenging work-at-height environments.

IPAF's well recognised Powered Access License (PAL) operator course is certified to the international standard ISO 18878. The PAL operator course meets all requirements for basic operator training.

Now there is an extra "+" for those wanting to go further. Operators looking for more advanced and extensive training can opt to take this one-day PAL + course and get the guidance they need regarding the correct use and inspection of safety harnesses.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of the theory test, practical test and interview, operators will have the relevant categories added to their PAL card, e.g. Static Vertical (1a+), Static Boom (1b+), Mobile Vertical (3a+), and Mobile Boom (3b+).

The added "+" qualification on the PAL card is proof that the cardholder has successfully demonstrated his/her ability to operate powered access equipment safely and effectively in challenging work environments.
